LOVE LETTER ZINE
ZINE | HAND DRAWN ILLUSTRATIONS
This zine was created based on my love of romantic comedies, classic romance novels, and the idea of being a “hopeless romantic,” a notion I wholly relate to. I wanted the zine to feel playful and feminine, so I used a handwritten style typeface and added my own doodles to each page. As you flip through the zine, you'll find that each page is unique but still maintains a cohesive look.
While creating this love letter, I wanted each spread to have a unique layout. I spent a while deciding what content would live on each spread, and I love how it turned out to be a sort of collage of romance in different forms. One of my favorite spreads is the romance quiz, which is a call back to the magazines I grew up with, like Seventeen and Tiger Beat, that always had fun quizzes I did with my older sisters. I wanted to create dynamic layouts, and I accomplished this by creating a large contrast in type hierarchy, incorporating bold colors, and balancing type and image.
