Sloane is a supper-club–inspired restaurant offering a timeless dining experience. Opening in Peoria, Illinois in early 2026, Sloane welcomes adults seeking a refined yet familiar atmosphere to enjoy classic cocktails and quality steakhouse cuisine.

The logo’s curvy, swooping lines capture Sloane’s elegant and classy spirit. The aim of the branding was to convey a timeless restaurant identity with a touch of modern charm.

Branding Direction & Mood Board

After a brand exploration meeting with the client where we discussed brand values, target audience, and design preferences, I created two mood boards with slightly different directions. We decided on this one, which felt moody and sexy while still maintaining the classy vibe he was looking for. With the brand direction clear, I moved forward into the creation stage.

While creating Sloane’s logo, I drew inspiration from a range of typefaces and added unique, intentional details to each letter. I wanted the “S” to stand alone as a recognizable mark, and after many iterations, I landed on a swooping, distinctive form that embodies the brand. I paired this custom type with a clean sans serif for the subtitle to balance the ornate script.

A Custom Typographic Logo

After creating the logo, I saw an opportunity to create a brand pattern that could appear across the brand’s assets, such as menus and business cards. Using the swooping form of the “S,” I created an infinite interlocking pattern that reflects the same elegant and refined character as the logo.

Creating a Brand Pattern

This is a video teaser I created for Sloane’s Instagram announcement. It’s a simple yet clever piece that showcases the moody, low-light vibe Sloane will embody.
